If you love Lemony Snicket's books A Series of Unfortunate Events, you will love this journal. It is hard cover, pages for writing like a journal or diary, with appropriately negative and realistic quotes at the bottom of pages. Example " A miserable experience is a miserable experience, even on the loveliest of mornings" or "In certain cases great enthusiasm can make up for a lack of brainpower." For days too terrible even write about, there are two pages of woeful, black and white, sticker to enhance your notes. I bought three copies... it is a great gift for an adult having a bad year or a pre teen in angst. Sense of humor required. Bound to cheer you. Don't know Lemony Snicket as an author... check him out

Buy the physical copy

My review is directed at the kindle edition: Don't buy it. The physical copies may be a little more expensive, but the Kindle edition is sort of a mess. No effort has been made to adapt the book to the different format, so illustrations and tables can appear several 'pages' away from the text they are supposed to be accompanying (depending on your font size setting.) Tables are represented as images as well, so get ready to be squinting at tiny text.

Also, as per usual when you get a textbook on Kindle, your professor may not acknowledge that kindle is a thing and give you reading assignments in page numbers, which you'll have to guess at. This is a problem with the professors not the product, but it's something people should be aware of.

As to the content of the book itself: it's adequate, but in some places poorly edited, containing sentences that completely fail to make sense. But who cares? Your professor chose it. You have to buy it. Spend the extra money for the paperback version, though. I hate to push people away from Kindle, but this publisher, at least, hasn't figured out how to use the format yet.

This book is one of my text books for practial nursing. It has been very frustrating to read. The information is not always clear. I have to find other books that will help me to understand the information.

Only 6 books out of 9 are available.

As of August 2017, the Steel Brothers Saga shows 9 book covers, even a full set of 9 books available for sale For $64. However, only 6 "books" were published and the reader is left in the middle of the story. I am unable to see the number of pages in each book, as the reading progress shows only in percentages, but each book is quite thin. Maybe both the author and Amazon are embarrassed by how much they charge for a few chapters. The author should finish her book before publishing. The book has a mystery story that I am going to guess will be resolved in the 9th volume. Half of the pages are used to describe sexual encounters with literary pearls like " oh God, oh God, ...( name of a Steel brother) it is so good!"
I understand that authors must be paid. But books written by authors who received literary awards are not as expensive as this saga, and at least you know that when you start the book you will know how it ends. It is supposed to be a book, not a TV soap.

I am OFFICIALLY hooked!

Well, I'm a little late to the party, but I am finally here!! What a great story, Miss Helen!! It took no time for me to become hooked into this story. Jade and Talon are perfect. I love all the characters in the story, and cannot wait to dive into Book 2. The Steel Family are a perfect mix of sexy and mysterious. While I'm especially anxious to know Talon's story, I'm sure the other members have an equally intense story. Bring it on, Miss Helen!!!!

I saw the reviews for this series and had to check it out!! Glad I did, could not put this book down. It kept me on edge wanting to find out what Talon's secret was, and if he would ever find it within himself to love Jade. Love this series, I have a lot of reading to do to catch up!!
Good story line and a little hot:)

Disappointing

If you have ever done any basic sewing at all, this book will most likely disappoint you. While it does contain some very helpful resources for materials, and a few pointers on VERY basic construction, the majority of the book is a series of photos of the same few steps over and over again, with a few finished garments thrown in for kicks. The book has several very basic patterns which (unless by some stroke of luck you're proportioned exactly like the model) would only be useful to someone who's made or altered patterns before, but the book contains NO information on fitting techniques or altering patterns for use in latex. My opinion is that it's worth about half of the list price, and mostly for the list of materials suppliers.

Book is OK, but there is none better that I know of!

It could definatly use more info on making patterns - especially the tight and slinky ones like a basic catsuit. However you will learn the basics of working with latex and construction details.

as for fitting - well make a snug sloper from muslin. pants should be snug and comfy when standing and too tight for sitting. shirt should be tight as practical, just keep in mind the sleeves will have to be taken in.

when you have your sloper subtract about 5% from the horizontal measurements
and maybe 2% from the vertical ones. that will get you a decent snug fit.

take notes and be prepared to make fine adjustments.
don;t make latex garments too tight. they will fail at stress points. avoid long vertical zippers if possible. there is a huge stress point at the end of a zipper.

when preparing a zipper apply glue to it 2 or three times, letting it dry.

that covers most of the holes in the book :)
